The conservatory can be a room that rarely gets used. It can be too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. And all too often conservatories can be left neglected and become mere storage areas.
If that is what’s happened to your conservatory, it’s time to reclaim the space and make it more useable.
First of all, clear anything out that shouldn’t be in there. This includes things like gardening equipment, toys, bikes, boots and shoes…Then take a good look at the room and see if it needs repainting or decorating. In general, most conservatories contain so much glass that there won’t be much painting to be done. However, you might need to give it all a good clean.
You might want to install some blinds to keep the heat down during the summer, and an oil-filled radiator to give it extra warmth in the winter.
If your conservatory adjoins the kitchen or living room it can easily be turned into a dining room. Depending on its size, you could put in a dining table or even an extending dining table. If you have an extending table, then you can still use the room for other purposes, and pull out the dining table when you want to serve dinner in there.
However, if you’ve already got a dining room that you’re happy with, then you could put your conservatory to another use. You may have room in there for a sofa and chairs so that it could be a second living room.
Have a look at Harveys furniture online to see what kind of style would suit your conservatory. You might want to put a corner sofa in, or maybe a wicker set that suits a garden room.
